P resident of the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT), V. Rev. Msgr. Jonathan Thomas Ankrah, is a priest ordained in 1976 for the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra. He was educated at the school of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London and All Hallows College of the University of Dublin where he obtained a Master’s Degree in African Studies (1981) and a second Master’s Degree in Pastoral Leadership (2004). He also studied at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome obtaining a Doctoral Degree in Canon Law and the University of London, with a second Doctor of Philosophy Degree in the Study of Religions.
He was appointed lecturer in Canon Law, Pastoral Theology, African Traditional Religions and Comparative Religion at the St. Peter’s Regional Seminary, Cape Coast from 1981 to 1988. From 1982 to 1989 he was the Vice Rector of the Seminary and the Rector from 1990 to 1998. He became the Secretary General of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference from 1998 to 2002.
He was the Director of the Accra Archidiocesan Pastoral Center and the Administrator of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Odorkor, Accra. For many years he was Advocate and Promoter of Justice and later a judge of the Interdiocesan Tribunal of the Cape Coast Province. Currently he is a judge and the Judicial Vicar of the Interdiocesan Tribunal of the Accra Ecclesiastical Province, Episcopal Vicar for Judicial Matters of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra and a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Business Technologies Limited (GBTL).
